The basic story here is a good one and the twist at the end is great. The book is flawed, however, by a choppy writing style, some word mis-use ('strumming' instead of 'drumming' for example) in expressions, and repetitive descriptions. By the second or third time, we know one of the heroines has a 'large orange Prada bag:' the author need not point it out at every turn.But it was a fun read.

While the book was not great, I enjoyed it enough that I will try the next book. I did not connect with Anne at all, but I did enjoy CC in spite of her tendency to share knowledge a bit more than necessary. The plot of the mystery was excellent!
This author, Vicki vass. Is outstanding. I really believe that she is going and doing all that she is writing about. You can't put the book down. And, you can't really know who done it,until the story is finished. I hope that there are more stories to come.
What a great way to start a series. Vicki creates great characters who have a lot in common, but are as different as the seasons. the story revolves around antiques (real?), dyed in the wool collectors and or course murder. We written as story lines blend and leave you guessing until the end.
Well written, fast read and highly recommended.
Murder and antiques seem to go together in this fun mystery! Anne and CC are antique hunters and CC does a blog about their finds. Well, greed starts showing them that the antique world has become bloody and then the girls figure out what's going on an call the police. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this page turner!
Being a history major and an antique Hunter I loved this book. The plot is great and the character are so true to life, I can almost picture them among those like them that I've met in my travels. I read the whole book in one sitting because I could not put it down.
What happens when a pair of middle-aged women set about to find out how and why an elderly family member was murdered. The story takes you on a wild ride through many second-hand and collectible shops. It's a good cozy mystery read for the summer.
What an unlikely pair of friends! One can barely manage not to buy everything she loves at estate sales and the other spouts interesting facts about people, places and things wherever they are. Both women are educated and bring their individual talents and skills to bear on the puzzles before them. Likeable protagonists and a tiny bit of romance as well.
